Science Lab Challenge
Put your skills to the test! Complete this guided challenge to build a fully interactive VR experience from scratch. Perfect for students ready to take their learning to the next level.
Downloading and Installing
Before anything else, create or open an existing Unity project with the Zoe for Unity plugin installed. If you need help for this step, follow this simple guide.
Follow the steps below to download the challenge:
- Head over to the Download page and get the add-on called "Chemistry Challenge".
- Once downloaded, import the .unitypackage file into your Unity project.
Overview
This challenge contains two scenes:
- ScienceLab_Challenge
- ScienceLab_Challenge_Start
The first is the finished scene, whereas the second is an unfinished version of the scene, which you need to complete.
Both scenes can be found in Zoe > Examples > ScienceLab_Challenge.
A little robot greets the user in the scene. It contains three stations, each with several tasks written on a blackboard. Once the user completes a station, the robot and the blackboard move to the next station. Once all stations are completed, the challenge is over!
The Challenge
Make sure you are in the challenge's unfinished scene, called "ScienceLab_Challenge_Start". If stuck, you can always check the finished scene as a reference.
Part 1
The objective of the first part is to be able to point at the glasses and the gloves on the table, and "equip" them when clicking. In practice, the two objects will simply disappear.
Part 2
For the second part, the liquid contained in the beaker must change color when placed on the lit bunzen burner.
Part 3
The third and last part is about cleaning the three lab items on the of the sink. When the items are put in the sink and washed, the challenge is complete. Good job!
Congratulations, you've successfully completed the Science Lab Challenge! You've learned the basics of a step-by-step experience built with the Zoe for Unity plugin and should now be ready to create your own. Happy building!
